(Aram Sei) which means “help others” in Tamil, was started by a group of volunteers, united in their “desire to help”. Aram Sei’s mission is to be a conduit of funds and support for charities with specific focus on education and healthcare. Aram Sei intends to leverage the experiences of its volunteer team members to orchestrate fund-raising campaigns for fledgling grass root charities. All the volunteers at Aram Sei come with a background in managing fund
raising events and serving other charities in various capacities. The passion and the energy that the Aram Sei volunteers bring to the table is attested by the fact that almost all of them have a full-time job and have yet been able to get Aram Sei up and running in a record time. And most importantly, Aram Sei operates with limited or no overheads! Aram Sei is kicking off 2012 with a pilot project to assist over 250 children in India from low-income families to go to school. Many of these children have been forced into child labor, depriving them of their childhood and dreams. Volunteers at Aram Sei understand the impact that even a small contribution can make if more people pitch in with their support. In addition to planning big fund raising events, Aram Sei is introducing the concept of Seed Events. Aram Sei Seed Events are localized fund-raising activities that can be organized by anyone interested in making a difference.
Aram Sei places great emphasis on ensuring accountability of donor funds and in measuring the impact of its fund-raising efforts. Volunteers at Aram Sei have put in place, a comprehensive due-diligence process for vetting the beneficiaries of its efforts and monitoring deployment of funds. Aram Sei is already building a system of first hand verification and validation through a network of volunteers and partners.
Aram Sei has already applied for its 501c (3) status in the US. If you are looking for funding your mission or interested in joining Aram Sei as a volunteer, visit www.aramsei.org.
