In a shocking turn of events, more than 1000 members of the DMDK have left the party and joined the ranks of AIADMK. Actress Kuyili, Velmurugan - the candidate who recently stood for the position of the mayor of Chennai, DMDK party election wing secretary -Jagaveerapandian, State Doctors wing secretary - Dr Pari, Jaichand Jacob, Ponraj, Raveendran, Kamalakannan, Nataraja, Krishnaswamy were among the key members who shifted base.
Producer Ibrahim Rowther, who is one of Vijaykanth's oldest and closest friends has also left the party. All this in the wake of his suspension from the Assembly has constituted a big blow for Vijaykanth and his DMDK party.
