Director Kannan’s Vandhaan Vendraan starring Jiiva and Tapasee seem to have achieved the impossible. The film unit have shot for about 20 days in Mumbai in the most prominent and forbidden areas like the Gateway of India and the Taj Hotel. No, they did not go against the law; they were able to do this due to the sheer persuasion and perseverance of the director. The officials had refused to grant them permission in the beginning but the director had gone his way out to get the permission.
As the shoot involves no guns or violent scenes, the officials relented a bit; but not before making sure that every member in the unit had an identity card and address proof. They were frisked everyday and were allowed to shoot only for 9 to 5 each day. The unit has experienced a smooth shoot there and now has proceeded to Goa to can a song sequence.
