Rajinikanth was awarded with The NDTV Entertainer of the Decade award at a function in New Delhi yesterday. He received the honor from the Hon’ble Union Minister P Chidambaram and Ajay Devgn, Trisha, Katrina Kaif, and Vidya Balan also shared the dais with him.
Rajinikanth agreed with the host Prannoy Roy that Robot is one of the best films so far in his career. He added that honestly he never expected the film to create such an impact and success.
Prannoy Roy, who was hosting the show, termed Rajini as a humble human being with a wonderful heart. Ajay said that Rajini is not just an Indian star but a global star. Trisha also had her share of proud moment in sharing the stage with Rajini and said that it is a special moment for her as they both belong to the south Indian film industry.
When the host wanted to know if Rajini would prefer to follow MGR or Jayalalithaa’s footsteps, the Superstar simply brushed off the question with “No… No comments.”
Earlier P Chidambaram said that the Superstar had a great chance in sweeping the elections during the 1996 polls and was hoping that he would enter politics but the actor remained noncommittal. He added that Rajini still had a chance to sweep the polls if he chooses to contest the elections.
