There have been reports that the entire Mankatha team has moved to Mumbai for the next schedule in Dharavi area but this news turns out to be only half true. Director Venkat Prabhu clarified that it was just him and his crew who went to Mumbai on a location hunt and that Ajith and rest of the cast were not there and no shooting happened.
The next schedule is said to happen in Chennai and the shoot in Mumbai will happen much later. The director also added that there will be a 3-4 minute animation sequence that is being created by world class technicians and that it will be one of the major highlights of the film. With the slow progress and detailed shooting and post production, looks like Mankatha might not release on May 1st, but we hope it will!
