The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu M Karunanidhi is known for rendering yeoman service to the film industry through his creative ideas as well as bringing in various welfare measures for the betterment of the cine stars, directors, producers and technicians.
Recognizing his decades of service to the film fraternity, the CM has been awarded with the 'Heart of Cinema' award at the Nagpur Film Festival by its jury members.
