Akshay Kumar will be seen playing a gangster in his upcoming movie under Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms, says a report. According to the report, this untitled movie is the sequel of Once Upon a Time in Mumbai, based on the life of Haji Mastan (Sultan, enacted by Ajay Devgn) and the rise of Dawood Ibrahim (Shoaib, enacted by Emraan Hashmi).
This sequel will begin from where it ended in the first part and the role of Dawood, earlier played by Emraan, will be essayed by Akshay, says the source. Unlike its prequel, this movie will have lots of action sequences and will focus on the life of Dawood and how he was able to get the whole Mumbai under his wings. This project will start rolling early this year as soon as the negotiations between Ekta and Akshay are settled, confirms the close circle of Balaji Telefilms.
