Naam Foundation, a women support group spearheaded by Suhasini Manir Ratnam, strives to fulfill the dreams and aspirations of underprivileged women. The Foundation organized an event in which the President of Rotary Club of Chennai Towers (RCCT), Ms. Raji Vijaysarathy, along with her fellow Rotarians, handed over the auto keys to Ambika, a Naam beneficiary.
The 31year-old Ambika aspired to become an auto driver and own an auto to meet the financial needs of her two daughters and herself. Ambika said that she wanted to quit working as a housemaid and venture into the male-dominated bastion to prove that women are in no way inferior to men.
Thanking RCCT, for their kind gesture, Ms. Suhasini said “Not just Ambika, but her fellow beneficiaries who are present here today, have also been motivated to dream big and achieve more in their lives. Going forward, Naam Foundation looks forward to RCCT’s continued patronage in bridging such social inequalities and building an inclusive society for single women.”
