M.Karnan, a noted cinematographer / director passed away today at around 12 30 pm. He was 79 and is survived by his wife, Sakunthala, and two daughters, Bhama and Thaara. He had been admitted in hospital after a prolonged period of illness before his eventual demise.
Starting with his first film Karpagam, he worked as a cinematographer in around 150 films including Simla Special, Polladhavan and Kattabomman to name a few. He also wielded the megaphone for around 25 films including Jambu, Jakkamma and Enga Paattan Sothu.
His last rites would happen in Chetpet tomorrow. Behindwoods prays for the departed soul to rest in peace.
