Akshay Kumar has made a disappointing journey in 2010 as none of his films were up to the expectation levels nor they succeeded at box office. Sajid Khan’s ‘Housefull’ (partial remake of Kamal Haasan’s ‘Kadhala Kadhala’) had a grand opening, but later dropped down in collections. His next release ‘Khatta Meetha’ directed by Priyadarshan bombed at box office again as it didn’t cater to any centre of audiences. His Diwali release ‘Action Replay’ arrived on bigger expectations and the results were contrast. Despites being made on a newfangled concept, the audiences didn’t like the looks of Akshay Kumar (the actor himself accepted it during a recent interview as they want him to look like a hero).
Farah Khan’s ‘Tees Maar Khan’ had leaped with huge anticipation levels during pre-release phase. As a matter of fact, the opening was incredulously bigger but till the opening weekend. Majority of the audiences felt that the supposed-to be comedy film lacked ‘humor’ elements.
With all his 4 films releases of this year turning out to be a major disappointment, Akshay Kumar has no time to look back as he get ready for his next league of releases – ‘Patiala House’, ‘Thank You’, ‘Desi Boyz’ and ‘Joker 3D’ scheduled for 2011 release.
