Ganesh Venkatraman who featured in Abhiyum Naanum and Unnai Pol Oruvan is happy with his third film Kandahar directed by Major Ravi where he shared screen space with Amitabh Bachchan and Mohanlal. Kandahar, which also happens to be Ganesh’s launch in the Malayalam film industry, was released on 16th December.
Ganesh plays Amitabh Bachchan’s son Soorya, an unemployed frustrated youngster whose life changes after he meets Major Mahadevan played by Mohanlal, who urges him to join the army. Ganesh then gets a focus in life and transforms into a dashing commando who goes on the Kandahar mission. His character has been shown to be extremely patriotic and people have loved it a lot. Ragini Dwivedi plays his love interest.
While speaking about his film, Ganesh says, “Working with stalwarts like Amitabh and Mohanlal and observing them has helped me hone my skills and mature as an actor.”
Ganesh, apparently shares a great rapport with Mohanlal and it was Mohanlal who recommended Ganesh for Kandahar. Says Ganesh, ‘I look up to Mohanlal sir as my mentor and guru. I owe him a lot, I feel blessed to have acted along with him in 2 path breaking films.’ Way to Go Ganesh!
