The entire film industry is planning a demonstration in Delhi on January 6th to condemn the Government of India for proposing the Copyright Amendment Bill. People belonging to the film industry consider this proposed Bill as draconian as it will usurp the rights of the producers.
As per this amendment, the lyric writers will get 50 per cent of the revenues from the music rights and this will be in addition to the pay packet they receive for penning the lyrics.
Film personalities say that if this bill is made into a law, then the producers will be the worst affected as they cannot monetize on the music.
Noted film stars, producers, lyric writers and directors from all over India will participate in the planned demonstration to oppose this bill.
