The divorce case filed by Arvind Samy and Gayathri came up for final decision yesterday at the family court. Declaring the couple as divorced, the judge held that Arvind Samy should make a one-time maintenance of 75 lakhs to Gayathri and pay her 1 lakh every month.
On the custody of the two children, he held that both of them will continue to live with the father and Gayathri can visit them between Friday and Saturday 6 pm every week. The children are allowed to stay with the mother for one week during their summer holidays.
Arvind Samy was married to Gayathri in the year 1994 and the two had irreconcilable differences in 2003 and were living separately since then. They filed a petition for divorce on May 31st, 2010.
