Vairamuthu began his career by penning the lyrics Idhu Oru Ponmalai Pozhudhu for Nizhalgal and has so far written about 7000 songs for various films, the last being Arima Arima for Endhiran. Of these 7000 songs, the lyricist has selected 1000 best songs to have it published as a book.
What is significant about this book is that each song will have a summary. The book will be released on January 2nd 2011 by the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi and it will be received by Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan. Noted celebrities including Mani Ratnam, Shankar, Vaali, and AR Rahman, will deliver speeches during this function. A music program in which SP Balasubramaniam, KJ Yesudas, P Suseela, Janaki and others will render songs penned by Vairamuthu has been arranged.
