K V Anand - Suriya action thriller Maatraan might release on the 19th of September on the Vinayagar Chathurthi day. Production sources claim that despite 19th being a Wednesday, it's decided to release Maatraan as against the traditional release day of Friday. Suriya's previous film, 7aum Arivu was also released on a festival (Diwali) and witnessed a very good opening. Similarly, the makers of Maatraan are also eyeing a dramatic opening.
Maatraan has generated enough curiosity among Suriya fans, partly because of the Anand - Suriya combination and also because of the fact that the movie features Suriya in double roles of conjoined twins. Kajal Agarwal plays Suriya's female lead. Maatraan is scored by the Anand regular, Harris Jayaraj. The second teaser of the film is also expected to release during the grand audio launch in Singapore.
