On Chennai’s 372nd birthday, 92.7 BIG FM, has announced the ‘Big Chennaiite Awards’ to salute and honor the common man. The FM radio station has instituted awards on this occasion under the following categories:
- BIG Chennaiite Award for Music (classical and film music)
- BIG Chennaiite Award for Dance
- BIG Chennaiite Award for Sports
- BIG Chennaiite Award for Theatre/acting
- BIG Chennaiite Award for Green Initiative
- BIG Chennaiite Award for Social Initiative
- BIG Chennaiite Award for Educational Initiative
- BIG Chennaiite Award for Entrepreneur
Prasanna was the Chief Guest on this occasion and Bharath was also present during this event. The jury comprises film critic and cartoonist Mr. Madhan, noted TV and Media personality Mr. Ramesh Prabha, Chief reporter of The New Indian Express Mr. Saptarishi Bhattacharya, and International Violinist Dr. M. Lalitha.
