Director Sargunam has lodged a complaint against an anonymous conman who has been ripping people off by using his name and impersonating his voice over a mobile. Apparently this fraud spread the word that after Vaagai Sooda Vaa, Sargunam was doing a film with three heroines and wanted fresh faces. Not surprisingly every wannashine in the industry was dying to land a coveted part in Sargunam's mythical project.
The conman reportedly demanded and obtained a sum of INR 50,000 from one aspiring actress and INR 34, 000 from yet another wannabe starlet luring them with the promise of a role in the film. Apparently these women also received phone calls from persons claiming to be Sargunam and the producer of the film.
When Sargunam got wind of the misuse of his name, he immediately lodged a complaint with the cops. Apparently a few months ago a similar fraud was carried out using Sasikumar's name. The police believe that it is the work of the same miscreant or miscreants. They are in the process of issuing warnings to the public to stay on their guard to avoid getting conned.
