Fans have been booking their Cds in advance and so the sales figures have gone right through the roof. Ajith's sheer star power has never been more evident and industry pundits are already saying that such a response from the fans is usually seen only for Rajini films.
The marketing for Mankatha seems to have been very effective especially the concept of releasing a single months before the actual audio launch. This move whetted the appetite of the fans and sent them into a frenzy of excited anticipation. Yuvan Shankar Raja has his own legion of fans since he has become something of a youth icon and the Ajith - Yuvan combo has turned out to be a winning one.
