On receiving an ananymous phone call about a bomb having been placed at Udhayam theatre, Chennai yesterday, the police immediately informed the theatre owners just as the morning show was about to begin. Evacuation proceedings were carried out at once, and the police arrived on the scene with the bomb squad and dogs.
Despite a thorough search, nothing suspicious was turned up and the place was declared safe. Investigations are still going on, and the police are trying to track down the miscreants responsible for this hoax. As of now, the cops would only say that there are some vested interests at play here.
