over grandmaster Viswanathan Anand’s Indian
citizenship, Shah Rukh Khan said that it
was silly if not tragic. The actor has penned
his thoughts in a micro blogging web site,
“It would be silly if it wasn't so tragic
asking Vishy Anand for Indianness. CWG,
Cricket & Vishy, India is truly having
some sad sports days (sic)... Instead of
just cheering or jeering at half filled
unkept arenas...we all should respect the
great gift of sporting talent in our country”
[sic]
It may be recalled that the Union HRD
Minister Kapil Sibal called up Anand to
tender his apologies but Anand had decided
not to accept the honorary doctorate conferred
on him by the University of Hyderabad.
