Director Shankar is celebrating his birthday
today (August 17th, 2010). He started his
directorial ventures with Gentleman in 1993
and went on to make his mark with several
blockbusters including Kadhalan, Indian
and Sivaji. Shankar is known for his penchant
for highly commercial films made at astounding
budgets. This birthday should be extra special
for Shankar as the Rajinikanth-starrer Endhiran
is due to be released soon.
Apart from directing films, Shankar has
proved that he is an able producer. His
production house S Pictures has produced
several films and most of them have turned
out to be smash hits. Some of this recent
production ventures are Eeram and Ananthapurathu
Veedu.
