1. What percentage of Engal Aasan belongs
to you?
I don’t believe in percentages,
each character has been given the importance
that the script demands.
2. What do you think about Rajnikanth’s
statement on the Hogenakkal issue and the
apology?
You must ask that question to people who
were trying hard to project Rajini as the
face of the protest
3. On Chiranjeevi’s entry to politics,
Jayalaltiha has commented that the disease
that had captured Tamil Nadu has now infected
Andhra Pradesh. What do you think?
If she thinks that people from the film
industry are a disease, then she is an even
more deadly disease.
4. Will the dialogues of Engal Aasan have
political overtones?
Nothing intended, but we have used the
famous dialogue of a lion bringing down
a wild elephant from MGR’s Aayirathil
Oruvan.
5. You have been referred to as the Black
MGR. Is the use of this dialogue an attempt
to strengthen that perception?
I have never referred to myself as the
Black MGR, it is my fans and well wishers
who have done so.
