This composer from Massachusetts has been living in Mumbai for long now. He, who is known in India by the name Shankar Tucker, took his orchestral Clarinet lessons at the New England Conservatory and flute lessons under Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia. He also learned Indian classical music and played clarinet for the concerts of music geniuses like Zakir Hussain and his guru Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia. Apart from clarinet, he plays flute, piano, table, kanjira, bass and guitar.
Shankar Tucker’s Youtube page is an internet rage. His compositions and remixes have attracted and mesmerized a large number of music fans.
Now, he has signed a Tamil film that will be directed by debutante Vignarajan. This untitled film is of a romantic genre. Though the composer doesn’t know a word of Tamil, he has the experience of composing few Tamil songs for his Youtube page Shruthi box.
