The most anticipated Ajith starrer, Billa 2 has generated about 41 crores revenue from selling rights excluding Kerala theatrical and Hindi dubbing and TV rights. According to sources, this takes Billa 2 to the top spot among the pre-release revenue grossers of all time in the Kollywood.
Sunir Kheterpal, CEO of IN Entertainment, the producer of the film has stated that there was a huge interest amongst potential buyers for the Tamil Nadu theatrical rights for the film. However, INE has chosen Aascar considering their commitment on marketing spends and ability to give the film a hassle-free, wide distribution release in TN, he added. Tamil Nadu theatrical distribution rights of Billa 2 was sold to Aascar Ravichandran for Rs 26 crore. The movie will be released simultaneously in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Karnataka, apart from other centers.
While the film will be released David Billa – The Beginning in Andhra Pradesh, the original Tamil version will be released in Kerala and the dubbed version of Tamil will be released in Karnataka.
