Maithanam will see the debut of four assistant directors as heroes. Apart from the heroes, the other actors are also newbies except the heroine. Swasika, who plays the lead role in this film, has acted in films like Vaigai and Goripalayam.
This film will not be the usual Tamil film that has unwanted fights, sentiments, duets, etc. Maithanam will be a totally new experience for movie goers. None of the commercial formulae that the Kollywood filmmakers adopt have been used for this film.
The film’s director M S Shakthivel is inspired by the reality shows aired in private television channels and hence has come out with a reality film. Maithanam has been awarded with a U certificate by the Censor Board.
