Home > News Shots > WorldGuinness World Records says Brazil has the world's tallest papaya tree.
Papaya fruit, which is generally said to be good for the eyes, contains a lot of nutrients. These trees can grow up to 16 feet to 33 feet in height. Although this tree is native to Mexico, papaya is now cultivated all over the world. The Guinness Book of World Records has declared Brazil the tallest papaya tree in the world.
Torcio Folts and Gilberto Franz, both from Brazil, discovered this tree growing rapidly on their own farm in Nova Aurora, Brazil. Consequently, on September 2, 2021, the height of the tree was measured by drone. The tree was found to be 14.55 m (47 ft and 8.83 in) tall.
The Guinness Book of World Records recognizes this tree as the tallest papaya tree in the world. "I'm proud to be recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records for my name in the Guinness Book of World Records for the most nutritious tree in the world," Folts said.
The papaya tree, formerly owned by Animal Milk of India, was declared the largest papaya tree in the world. When measured on January 22, 2017, the tree was 14.08 m (46 ft 2.33 in). This record has now been broken by this Brazilian tree.
The world's largest papaya tree, grown in Nova Aurora, Brazil, is admired by locals.
