GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS ANNOUNCES SISTER ANDRE AS THE OLDEST PERSON ALIVE - DETAILS!
Home > News Shots > WorldThe Guinness Book of World Records has named a woman from France the world's oldest person, following the death of Kane Tanaka of Japan, the world's oldest woman.
Kane hails from the Fukuoka region of southwestern Japan. He was born on January 2, 1903. In the same year the Wright brothers flew the first self-designed aircraft. It was also the same year that Marie Marie Curie won the Nobel Prize and set the record. Kane died last week at the age of 119.
The Guinness Book of World Records has named Sister Andre of France the oldest living person after the death of Kane Tanaka of Japan, considered the oldest living person in the world.
Lucille Randon was born in France on February 11, 1904. She later changed her name to Sister Andre after becoming a nun. She now lives in a nursing home in the Mediterranean and does not forget to worship God daily.
Sister Andre, who lost her sight in both eyes, recently celebrated her 118th birthday. If he likes a cocktail made of chocolates, he will love the loot. It is noteworthy that many leaders, including French President Emmanuel Macron, congratulated him on his 118th birthday in letters.
Historically, Jenny Louis Calment of France was considered the world's oldest living person. He was 122 years and 164 days old when he died in 1997. The oldest living person on earth after that is the now deceased Kane Tanaka of Japan.
It was at this point that Sister Andre was chosen as the oldest person in the world. The management of the nursing home where Andre lives says he hopes to break Jenny Lewis' record and live longer.
