NASA has announced the discovery of one of the largest comets in the United States. NASA says its frozen nucleus is the largest ever discovered. NASA has also announced that it is 50 times larger than the nucleus of a known comet and weighs about 500 trillion tons.

The comet currently being discovered is a million times larger than a regular comet found near the Sun. This is considered a great achievement in the world of science.

Comets formed by dust, rocks, and ice in the Solar System are pushed out of the comet by dust and gases from its various impacts as it approaches the Sun. That is what causes it to look like a long tail. When the sun shines on them, it looks like a tail.

NASA previously detected comet C / 2002 VQ94 using the Lincoln Near Earth Asteroid Research (LINEAR) program. Its nucleus is 60 miles long. This record has been broken by the now discovered behemoth comet (C / 2014 UN271).

Affect the Earth?

NASA says the comet, which is currently traveling at 22,000 miles per hour from the edge of the solar system, will not be there until 2031. NASA researchers say the comet, which is about 1 billion kilometers from the Sun, is unlikely to come close to Earth.

The comet was discovered by the Hubble Space Telescope, launched by NASA in 1990. NASA's discovery of the largest comet ever in space history is hotly debated in the scientific community.
