WATCH HOW A PILOT REASSURES INDIANS AMIDST UKRAINE EVACUATION; SAYS "TIME TO GO BACK TO OUR MOTHERLAND"
Home > News Shots > WorldWill the plane come to the rescue? Can I return to my home? Can I see my mother and father again? These are the sentiments of many Indian students who are trapped in Ukraine. Indian students have been urging Ukraine to defend themselves somehow via social networking sites.
Recovery Attempt
The Indian government has launched Operation Ganga to rescue Indians stranded in Ukraine. Accordingly, the Government of India said in addition to commercial aircraft, Indian Air Force flights have also been pressed into operation to evacuate the Indians who have crossed into Romania, Poland, Hungary and other neighbouring countries of Ukraine.
4 Ministers
The decision to send four Indian ministers to Ukraine's neighbors was taken at a meeting in Delhi last week, which was chaired by Prime Minister Modi. Accordingly Jyotiradtiya Scindia has been appointed in charge of Romania and Moldova. It has been announced that Kiren Rijiju will leave for Slovakia. Hardeep Puri was appointed to Hungary and VK Singh to Poland.
Similarly, rescue operations for Indian students are underway via Hungary. Meanwhile, a special SpiceJet flight carrying Indian students from the Hungarian capital Budapest to Delhi is hitting the headlines for the right reason.
What the pilot said
As the students boarded the SpiceJet, the pilot of the plane makes a heartening announcement, "We are very happy to see all of you safe and sound, and proud of each and every one of you for your courage and determination. You overcame the uncertainty, the hardship, the fear, and have made it here safely. And now, it's time to go back to our motherland. It's time to go home," said the pilot.
When the pilot finished speaking, the students chanted 'Vande Mataram' and 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai'. The flight attendants advised the students to sit back and relax without fear.
The video of the pilot reassuring the Indians is currently going viral on social media.
