This testing move has been decided after a handful of fresh infections were found to be emerging back in the city.
Amid the rise in cases, the US government’s top disease expert, issued a warning that cities and states could see more COVID-19 deaths and economic damage if they lift lockdown too quickly. “There is a real risk that you will trigger an outbreak that you may not be able to control,” Dr. Anthony Fauci warned after more than two dozen states lift their lockdowns.
China, was the first country to put its citizens under lockdown and also eased those restrictions despite reporting cases in the country. The first case of the coronavirus was found in Wuhan in December, which has currently infected more than 4.2 million people and killed over 291,000.
As per AFP news agency, six new cases were recently found in one part of the city. These were the first local infections that has been reported in Wuhan after the ease takes place in early April. During the outbreak, nearly 5 million residents of Wuhan have already tested themselves.
Looking at the recent stats, the deadly COVID-19 has infected more than 4.2 million people and killed over 291,000, while US has more than 82,000 deaths.
