WORLD'S OLDEST PERSON DIES AT AGE OF 117 IN JAPAN

Nabi Tajima, the world's oldest person, died of old age on Saturday at a hospital in the town of Kikai in southern Japan. The 117-year-old Japanese woman was born on Aug. 4, 1900. The last known 19th-century person had been hospitalized since January. Tajima raised seven sons and two daughters and had more than 160 descendants, reports added.
