The woman in her 40s accidentally swallowed the packet of painkillers in the middle of a night in November. After a sensation of a foreign body in her throat, she went to the hospital. However, even after taking an x-ray, the packet did not show up.
The woman made many visits to the hospital and on the fourth visit, an oesophago-gastroduodenoscopy (OGD) scan, which examines the upper intestinal tract using a lighted tube was conducted. After conducting the scan, the packet was found.
Reportedly, the packet was safely removed. The woman was quoted as saying, "had no idea I swallowed this. It was a very frightening three weeks and I couldn’t believe [it] when I saw the picture.” The woman was discharged after a period of observation.
