"WE ARE CONDUCTING SERIOUS INVESTIGATIONS," SAYS TRUMP BLAMING CHINA FOR CORONA OUTBREAK AND RISING DEATH TOLL!
Home > News Shots > WorldUS President Donald Trump said on Monday that China could have stopped the Coronavirus outbreak from happening by curbing it before it spread across the globe. He said his administration is conducting “serious investigations” into the matter.
"We're doing very serious investigations. We are not happy with China. There are a lot of ways you can hold them accountable," Donald Trump said at a White House news conference.
He has been vocal about his criticism on China’s handling of the global pandemic. He added, "We believe it could have been stopped at the source. It could have been stopped quickly and it wouldn't have spread all over the world."
This is the latest amongst a series of censuring done by the Trump administration against China’s handling of the situation.
Last week, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that the United States “strongly believed” Beijing failed to report the outbreak properly and covered how potentially harmful the virus was.
"But we can't have China, for example, bringing in those fake tests and counterfeit tests, because that's going to be very disruptive. There's a lot of these antibody tests coming in from China now that are low quality, false readings and things like that," Peter Navarro, an outspoken critic of Beijing, said in an interview on Fox News, as per one of India Today’s reports.
The country is heavily dependent on China for basic drugs and equipment.
As per one of Reuters’ stats, the pandemic has killed over 207,000 people across the globe and almost 55,000 citizens in the United States.
