US REPORTS HIGHEST EVER NEW COVID-19 CASES IN 24 HOURS; SET TO CREATE WORLD RECORD!
Home > News Shots > WorldAmid COVID-19 rise and vaccine production, the United States is all set to create a new all-time high coronavirus cases in 24-hour period.
On October 30, 16 U.S. states reported highest one-day coronavirus infections while 13 states were at record levels of hospitalized COVID-19 patients.
As per Reuters tally, the United States recorded over 98,000 coronavirus cases yesterday, a level that reached for the first time since the pandemic began. The new infections seems to surpass the record total of 91,000 which was posted a day earlier.
Meanwhile, the daily caseload of 100,233 is also a world record for the global pandemic, surpassing the 97,894 cases reported by India on a single day in September.
Looking into the past five days record, the United States exceeded its previous single-day record of 77,299 cases registered in July.
However, the number of daily infections reported during past two days indicates that the nation is now reporting more than one new case every second.
This spike comes as a big surprise just four days ahead of the U.S. presidential election which is on Tuesday.
Till date, the COVID-19 pandemic has killed nearly 2,30,000 people in the United States. Looking into stats, for every 10,000 people in the US, over 272 coronavirus cases have been reported and about seven people have died, as per a Reuters report.
