As global coronavirus cases exceed 2 million, the UK’s health department has issued the latest daily figures for coronavirus hospital deaths; there were 861 deaths in a single day which has taken the total to 13,729.
While looking at the cases, Britain has more than 100,000 people with the virus- making it the sixth country in the world to do so. Meanwhile, the rising number of cases remains stable, with just 4,618 positive tests in 24 hours.
Looking at the stats yesterday the daily figure was 761. Also, the NHS England confirmed 740 people have died in its hospitals, aged between 28 and 103. While, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland have announced a combined 121 more deaths from the coronavirus today.
The death toll is the highest in five days, but the rise was not unexpected, say officials. Media reports suggest that, just 212 of England's 740 happened over last weekend.
