UK RECORDS HIGHEST SINGLE-DAY RISE IN DEATH TOLL, CROSSES FRANCE, ITALY & SPAIN IN COUNT
Home > News Shots > WorldThe United Kingdom (UK) recorded its highest single-day death toll in the last 24-hours. According to figures released by England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales, the UK coronavirus death toll has risen by 891 in one day.
Seems like, people were not following lockdown and social distancing. With this rise in the fatalities, the total number of COVID-19 deaths has risen to 7,988, which was earlier 7,097 on Wednesday. Meanwhile, official figures will be released by the Department of Health and Social Care soon.
As per an Evening Standard report, National Health Service (NHS) England announced that 765 more people had died after contracting coronavirus. Mostly the patients were aged between 24 to 103-years old.
Highlighting about UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson's health condition; he "continues to improve" after his third night in intensive care with the coronavirus, official spokesman said. He was taken to London's St. Thomas' Hospital on April 5 as he was displaying symptoms ten days after testing positive for the virus.
