"OPEN THE PLANT..NOW," TRUMP SUPPORTS REOPENING OF TESLA FACTORY; MUSK & WORLD RESPONDS!
Home > News Shots > WorldHours after Tesla CEO Elon Musk decided to defy lockdown rules amid coronavirus outbreak and reopen the electric carmaker's plant, US President Donald backed his decision on the move.
Trump took to his social media handle saying, "California should let Tesla & @elonmusk open the plant, NOW. It can be done Fast & Safely!"
Since the past few days, Musk has been in the news for his offensive statements; he has even courted arrest by reopening the plant in a unilateral decision. Tesla's car plant in Fremont, had been ordered to suspend operations in March in order to curb the spread of COVID-19.
After Trump backed Musk's demand to open the plant once again, he replied to the US President saying, 'Thank you!". Earlier in the week, Musk took to social media and demanded that the company was resuming production despite the state's pandemic shutdown.
Earlier in the week, Musk tweeted saying, "I will be on the line with everyone else. If anyone is arrested, I ask that it only be me." In the past, Musk has termed lockdown as fascist and called the 'panic' around coronavirus as 'dumb.'
