Sri Lankan government has reportedly reimposed the ban on women buying liquor. Reports say, the ban which was in place for four decades was recently lifted by the country’s Finance minister who believed it would create ‘gender neutrality.’ However, the decision was criticized by groups saying it encouraged drinking. Following which, the government has prohibited the sale of alcohol to women.
