SPAIN ERUPTS OVER GANG-RAPE ACQUITTAL

The acquittal of five men on charges of gang-rape in Spain has sent the country into a protest mode for the sixth consecutive day on Tuesday with several thousands joining the chorus for stricter punishment. An 18-year-old woman was attacked during the 2016 running of the bulls festival and subsequently raped by five men, who also filmed the assault. Thursday's ruling acquitted the men of gang-rape and they were instead convicted for a lesser felony of sexual abuse and nine years each in prison.
