Home > News Shots > WorldAs Spain overtakes China in its death toll, the Spanish government announced a shocking news that Deputy Prime Minister Carmen Calvo has been tested positive for COVID-19. The 62-year-old, Carmen Calvo is currently receiving medical treatment and is also “doing well”.
As per an Independent report, the Deputy Prime Minister Calvo tested negative for the virus in the initial test, later on the minister was confirmed of having coronavirus infection in a test that was done on March 24. The government sent out a statement revealing that a recent test was done while the "last one had proven inconclusive."
This sad news comes at a time when, Spain surpassed China's death toll as it recorded 3,434 deaths amid the lockdown due to the COVID-19 epidemic.
Looking at the recent reports, the deadly virus has infected over 47,610 and killed in 3,434 across the country.
