After the deadly coronavirus infected 1 million people across the world, Russia confirmed 1,154 new coronavirus infections today. With this new one day rise, Russia has brought the country’s official number of cases up to 7,497. This made a new one-day record increase in infections.
As per The Moscow Times report, 58 people have been killed by the virus so far and 11 of whom have died in the past 24 hours. This sudden rise in Russia have sparked suspicion.
Meanwhile, experts say that Russia's testing capacity is hampered by bureaucracy, and the real number of cases is likely much higher. Also, most of Russia's cases are in Moscow. Since March 30, 12 million people have been ordered to stay in doors, Moscow Times further reported.
Looking at the pandemic globally, the virus has infected over 1 million people and more than 50,000 people have died so far.
