RUSSIAN VACCINE TRIALS FOR COVID-19: US, UK AND CANADA ACCUSES STEALING OF VACCINE INFORMATION! - REPORT
Home > News Shots > WorldCanada has accused a hacker group, which is “almost certainly” backed by Russia of stealing a COVID-19 Vaccine. According to the intelligence agencies in the U.K., U.S., and Canada, their vaccine researches were hacked.
The Communications Security Establishment (CSE), said APT29 is behind this hack. This group is very widely known for hacking the Democratic National Committee before the Presidential elections in the U.S. in 2016.
APT29 "almost certainly operates as part of Russian intelligence services," the CSE said. "These malicious cyber activities were very likely undertaken to steal information and intellectual property relating to the development and testing of COVID-19 vaccines, and serve to hinder response efforts at a time when health care experts and medical researchers need every available resource to help fight the pandemic," the CSE statement read.
APT29 "is likely to continue to target organizations involved in COVID-19 vaccine research and development, as they seek to answer additional intelligence questions relating to the pandemic," said a joint assessment from the CSE, the National Security Agency in the U.S., and the United Kingdom's National Cyber Security Centre.
However, the CSE also admitted to not being able to comment on or confirm the details of this supposed cyberattack.
