H-1B VISA HOLDERS' SPOUSES TO BE BANNED FROM WORKING; RULE FROM MARCH- U.S. HOMELAND SECURITY!

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security will publish a rule coming March to ban spouses of H-1B visa holders from working, said the agency, reports Mercury News.

While the agency has missed the deadline for proposing the rule in the past, the least, it could be expected before Spring 2020.

Earlier, the Justice Department had submitted a memo in September to the court to prohibit the spouses of H-1B visa holders on the H-4 visa.

They argued that U.S. citizens earlier were replaced by H-1B visa holders and now they have to compete against their spouses in the job market.

The judges earlier this month sent the case back to district court as they ruled that not letting the spouses work might prompt some H-1B visa holders to leave.

This is more pressurized under the administration of President Donald Trump and his Buy American Hire American order.

The denial rate for H-1B is high lately and several outsourcing companies have been hit hard. Silicon Valley techs rely on H-1B to acquire talent for the jobs requiring specialized skills.
