Religious protest in Pakistan worsens, dozens injured

Activists from Tehreek-e-Labaik, a new hard-line Islamist political party, have reportedly blockaded the main road leading to Islamabad, demanding for the law minister’s resignation and arrest over a controversial Constitutional amendment. Dozens of protestors have allegedly been injured. Private TV channels and social media sites like Facebook and Twitter have been temporarily blocked. Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal has said that the government will not bow down to the protesters.
