VIDEO: QUEEN ELIZABETH SHIFTED FROM PALACE AFTER WORKER TESTED POSITIVE FOR COVID-19
Home > News Shots > WorldThe Buckingham Palace was under panic after a royal aide reportedly tested positive for the deadly coronavirus. This news broke out while Queen Elizabeth II was still at her London residence. As soon as the news got confirmed, the Queen was shifted out of the palace to Windsor Castle immediately.
This method was taken as a "precaution" against COVID-19. Currently, all her engagements and meetings have been cancelled and reports state that she is healthy.
The aide, who is believed to have fallen sick and tested positive has not been named. Meanwhile, according to UK media reports, it is unknown how close the royal aide would have got to the Queen before being tested positive.
"The worker tested positive before the Queen left for Windsor. But the Palace has 500 members of staff so, like any workplace, it's not inconceivable it would be affected in some stage," The Sun quoted a royal source as saying.
Soon after the news went viral, Buckingham Palace has said that it was taking all necessary steps for the COVID-19 pandemic. A palace spokesperson said, "we wouldn't comment on individual members of staff. In line with the appropriate guidance and our own processes, we have taken the necessary actions to protect all employees and people involved."
Earlier this week, the Queen had issued a statement giving people support and also urging people to find new ways of staying in touch to get through the lockdown. Watch the video below:
