Australian terminally ill baby girl Amaiyah has tragically passed away. This has happened days after her mother's phone was stolen. The couple had pleaded the thief to return the phone as it had all her memories and she was terminally ill.
The Melbourne couple Jay and Dee Winross revealed that their 11-month-old daughter has been fighting an 'undiagnosed neurological issue from the day she was born'. But unfortunately on Wednesday, she lost the battle less than a month from her first birthday.
The father of the baby girl paid emotional tribute to her in a heartbreaking Facebook post.
'It is with utter sadness that Dee and I inform everyone that Amiyah Victoria grew her wings at 2.05am on Wednesday morning. Amiyah's last hours were spent peacefully and calmly, cuddling in Mummy's and Daddy's arms - which is what she loved most,' Mr Windross said.
'We will never stop thinking about you and those chubby cheeks. That infectious big toothy smile that you would show us when we cuddled with you will stay in our minds forever. We know that you were made up of a bit of Mummy and a bit of Daddy, so you will always have us with you where ever you go. No matter what, you will forever be in our hearts and we are so proud of you,' he has said in the post.
Days earlier, their phone was stolen and Mr. Winross had posted a Facebook post requesting to return the phone as it had all her memories. He also told that he does not want to involve the police.
'We beg you as grieving parents not to wipe the phone. This phone holds the memories of what little life our daughter has had. If you want the phone, we're more than happy to arrange to meet, we'll copy the photos off the phone and you can keep the phone. What is on the phone is worth more than anything in our life,' part of the post read.
May the child's soul rest in peace and may the parents be strong.
