OLD MOTHER DIES AFTER COOKING FOOD FOR SON; SON MISSES DINNER DUE TO WORK

We refuse to skip one meeting to spend extra hours to see our sick parents knowing well they are aging and even if we give all the time in the world, we will never get to spend a minute with them when it is too late. A funeral service business owner Lau shared an unforgettable case that is breaking the hearts of netizens.

According to a report by China Press, an old mother who is divorced from her husband raises her son alone being a single parent; the son works abroad. They plan on celebrating Mother's Day together. The mother cooks food for her son awaiting his arrival and goes to bath. There, she experiences heart attack and dies. The son, who is caught up with work, doesn't come home. Four days after the incident, neighbours smell a strong stench coming from her house and alert authorities.

When the police and fire department break into the house, they find that the old woman had already been dead for a few days and maggots were crawling throughout her body.

They managed to find the woman’s identity card and contacted her son. The son rushed home and broke down seeing her body. He had been working in Singapore and had planned to come home for Mother’s Day celebration. Unfortunately, he had to attend to some work-related matters upon reaching Taiwan and didn’t go home, the son told Lau.

Nomatter how long he stays at home now, he can never have that dinner ever again. While his regrets won't change anything, we can make sure it doesn't happen to us. Remember, our parents are only a call away and that time doesn't stay still. A meeting can always be rescheduled, family is the reason we strive.
