COVID VACCINE SHOWS PROMISING RESULTS AMONG ELDERLY PATIENTS - CLAIMS MODERNA!
Home > News Shots > WorldModerna INC announced on Wednesday that its COVID19 vaccine candidate has induced a strong immune response in early stage clinical trials conducted amongst elderly patients.
The vaccine candidate was tested on 10 adults between the ages of 56 and 70 and 10 elderly adults aged 71 and older. The biotech firm also said that each participant received around two 100 microgram doses of the vaccine and there will be a gap of 28 days between the first and second dose.
“The volunteers produced neutralizing antibodies, which researchers believe are necessary to build immunity to the virus, and T-cells, Moderna said in its results, which have not yet been published in a peer-reviewed journal. Additionally, the antibodies that were produced were higher than those seen in people who have recovered from Covid-19,” CNBC reported.
The company also said that the vaccine appears to be well tolerated and does not have any kind of adverse impact on patients. Some of the side effects which were reported includes fatigues, chills, headaches and paid at the injection site, most of which were resolved within wo days.
