According to reports, the London City Airport was closed on Sunday after a World War II bomb was found in King George V Dock, close to the runway of the airport. The travellers, who were to fly from London City, were advised “to contact their airline for further information.” Police reportedly said that the airport was closed “to ensure that the ordnance can be safely dealt with whilst limiting any risk to the public.” Further reports suggest that the bomb is being dealt with by specialist police officers working alongside the Royal Navy.
