In a sad and shocking case, a large number of people have been injured after a stabbing attack that took place at the London Bridge today.
London's Metropolitan Police confirmed that they were informed about a stabbing at a premises near the bridge. Hours after the attack, they have detained a man.
Following the incident, British Transport Police said that the London Bridge station was currently closed and no trains would be stopping there. Also, people are advised to follow directions from officers in that area.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Boris Johnson expressed his concern over the incident and took to social media and tweeted that he was being updated on the incident. He later thanked the police and all emergency services for their response.
An eyewitness to the incident told BBC News channel that "Just a few minutes ago I was walking across London Bridge on the south bank to the north bank of the bridge. There appeared to be a fight going on on the other side of the bridge, with several men attacking one man."
"Police then quickly arrived, including armed police, and then a number of shots were fired at this man," he added.
